Auditions

Only new members to the band need to audition. Dr. Grugin will hold auditions on Tuesday, May 14 from 4-7 pm at the NMU Band Room (252 Thomas Fine Arts Building). No appointment is necessary. Players are asked to prepare a solo/etude and will also be asked to play a couple of scales and do some simple sight-reading. Please encourage prospective instrumentalists you know to audition. Those unable to audition at that time may contact Dr. Grugin at sgrugin@yahoo.com to make other arrangements.

2024 Rehearsal and Concert Schedule:

First Rehearsal is May 21st at 7pm in Thomas Fine Arts Building at NMU in the Band Room

Regular rehearsals will be on Tuesday evenings from 7pm-9pm.

Extra Rehearsals:

• Thursday May 23th at 7pm
• Thursday May 30 at 7pm

First Concert is Thursday June 6th CALL TIME 7:00pm at Presque Isle Park Band Shell.

Summer Concert schedule is:

• Thursday, June 6, 7:30 pm
• Thursday, June 20, 7:30 pm
• Saturday, June 29, 7:00 pm end of Art Week concert
• Thursday, July 3, 6:30 pm at the Lower Harbor
• Saturday July 4th, After the Parade (Time TBA – Mid afternoon), at Jacobetti Home for the veterans
• Thursday, July 18, 7:30 pm
• Sunday July 21st, 4:00 pm Bay Cliff Health Camp Concert
  • This is a 40 minute or so drive from Marquette, please plan ahead!
• Thursday, August 1, 7:30 pm
• Thursday, August 8, 7:30 pm

Concert Dress and Appearance

Women: white tops and black slacks or skirts; no tank tops; skirts knee length or longer; black dress shoes or black dress sandals.

Men: white dress shirts; black slacks; and black shoes and socks.
